Parents of faith often pray for their children to go out into the world and do great things.

And at one point, Danny, I was actually kind of convicted about that.

I thought, Lord, I'm thinking in terms of

great things that people know about and can notice and almost applaud but then I

realized I should be praying my children are great people in that they make a difference to the people around them.

There's a difference there. And we want to talk today about raising difference makers, if you will.

I'm John Fuller joined by Dr. Danny Werta, who heads up our parenting team and I had a little

bit of a mental shift in my prayer life.

How about you? How have you prayed for your kids?

Yeah, for a while I prayed for safety for them and that wasn't the best thing.

Yeah, I mean that we want that. Well sure. Who prays that they're not saying. Yeah and it's shifted to

strengthen them and sometimes that's adversity and it's hard to pray that and to

think about man my child may face some difficult things just agreeing in prayer

with God that there is going to be some adversity some moments of failure some

moments of pain and to strengthen them along the way not weaken weaken them, not any of that, but to strengthen them.

And to, in that, in their weakness, they can find him.

And the other part of it is, I pray that he will be their guide, that they'll be able to hear

through the noise his voice.

Yeah.

That's what I long for my children because there's going to be so much noise coming

at them.

That they'll be able to pause enough, close their eyes,
