0:24.6	episode on the Confessions and we're going to be dealing with probably the most difficult topic
0:29.6	in the Confessions, which is the subject of the last three books. The last three books of the
0:36.3	confessions turn from the autobiography to scriptural
0:40.2	interpretation. So we're going to talk a little bit about what's in those books and why on
0:45.9	earth Augustine would end his autobiography with this kind of an exercise. And why you shouldn't
0:51.0	give up when you get there. And why you shouldn't give up and why you should read it. You know,
0:53.8	don't, it just because your college class only assigned the first 10 books doesn't
0:56.7	mean you should stop reading there.
0:57.7	You should read the whole thing.
0:59.0	So maybe we'll begin with just an overview of what's in book 11 and book 12 and book 13.

1:07.0	Okay. Sure. Okay, so this may not be evident to you if you're reading the confessions what exactly
1:12.2	is going on in these books and what he's doing. So the last three books constitute an
1:16.8	interpretation of the opening of the Bible of Genesis chapter one, but he moves rather slowly
1:21.8	at the beginning. So book 11 is an interpretation of the words in the beginning.
1:28.3	Book 12 is an interpretation of God created the heavens and the earth.
