Hi, who is this? This is Pomegranate. How can I get you today? Well, I wanted to call in, talk about my experience of being an Uber driver.

0:14.0

Oh, okay, how's that experience treating you?

0:16.0

Um, it's a mixed bag.

0:20.0

Okay, tell us, tell us more.

0:26.0

Do you want to know the good part of the bag or the bad part?

0:31.0

I like to start with the bad so that we can end with the good.

0:37.0

Okay, well, Uber doesn't seem to care very much about its drivers and seems to prioritize the

0:49.8

riders, which is like understandable because obviously rider safety is very important, but like often we get the short end of the stick.

1:07.0

of what the riders pay, sometimes less.

1:11.0

If we're lucky, maybe more.

1:15.0

Which means the riders end up paying like way out of ass

1:20.0

and we don't really get it and then so like when you when you're already paying like when it's

1:26.8

busy 40 bucks for a ride you're not inclined to tip which I like I get you know, you're paying a lot of money, but it just sucks on my end

1:36.0

because I end up making like 15, 17 bucks out of that, you know?

1:41.8

Right, and is that counting your gas too oh yeah there actually was a fuel

1:48.2

surcharge for when like the fuel prices got all crazy and stuff but they just removed that now but I would

1:57.6

honestly bet money that the riders are still paying that extra like fuel surcharge

2:01.9

but it's just like not telling them anymore but we're

2:05.4

definitely not getting it. And now so so if I get a ride for 40 bucks, you make about 20, or 15 even.

2:17.0

Yeah, 15 to 20 depending. There's like things like searches if it's busy and just like the customer tips I'll probably make a little more but that that seems pretty accurate

2:31.4

Is there a difference between Uber and Lyft with this kind of thing?
