0:47.0	We come now, Father your word the Bible, humbly asking for your help as we seek to
0:59.2	study it so that we might not only understand what it says, but that we might believe it,
1:05.0	and that in believing it, that we might obey it,
1:09.0	and that in being obedient to it, our lives may be transformed by it. Help us to this end, we humbly
1:16.5	pray in Christ's name, amen.
1:21.0	And I invite you to turn to James and Chapter 5. We've come today, I believe, to the end of our studies in James.
1:29.0	Tonight will be in the final two verses, and this morning we deal with the three or four verses that
1:35.8	lead up to that. Let me just read this section that begins from verse 13 through to the end of the chapter. Is any one of you in
1:44.8	trouble he should pray? Is anyone happy let him sing songs of praise? Is any one of
1:51.6	you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and
1:55.4	anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will
2:00.8	make the sick person well. the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
2:07.0	Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a
2:14.4	righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He
2:19.7	prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
