1:05.9	If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1:15.6	This is a pretty well-known verse in 1 John, and it's such a good verse. It's a promise from God that as we confess our sins, he is faithful. Just let that soak in for a moment.
1:31.1	As we confess our unfaithfulness, God is faithful. Oh, praise God that he is faithful despite our
1:42.0	unfaithfulness. And not just faithful, but just. Like you expect 1.1.9
1:47.9	here to say, and is merciful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1:54.2	But instead it says he is just. How is that possible for a holy God, perfectly righteous God, to forgive us of our sins in his
2:08.6	justice? And the gospel is the only answer to that question. Jesus has paid the price for our sins.
2:16.9	We are guilty. That's the whole point. We have sin to confess. And
2:21.1	Jesus has taken our guilt upon himself. He has paid the price for our sins so that, yes,
2:27.9	God is just. Judgment has been poured out on our sins through Jesus instead of us. This is amazing. He's faithful and just
2:36.8	to forgive us our sins. Just let that soak in in a fresh way today. One of the dangers in a
2:42.2	verse like this being so common and well known and familiar is that we lose sight of how wonderful
2:48.6	it is. We have been forgiven of our sins.
2:53.6	God has said to us, just think about all your sinful thoughts, desires, words, deeds.
