Happy opening day. What did this day mean to you with the Yankees and the Mets, the experience of that home opener? It just has that big game feel, you know, and you only get once in a while, right? It's not a regular season game. This is sort of the holiday, the national holiday. So you feel that as players. You get pumped up. you know the crowd's into it.

Now, the Yankees have gotten off to a very good start, five and one. And it's really been the pitching that's been dominant. And it's hard not to get excited about what's in the future for this team.

Because Garrett Cole hasn't pitched, Rodon hasn't pitched. But Cam Schlittler has been amazing. Obviously, Max Fried is Max Fried. He's always been that. But that's not the revelation. The revelation has been Cam is better than what we thought he was going to be from last year. Yeah, he's taken another step. He really has, and he was great last year.

He came on the scene, kind of blew people away with his high velocity, and that Boston game in the postseason. But he's better now. His refinement on his pitches are better. You know, the sinker and the cutter off of that high-octane four-seamer has just been devastating. I mean, he had 70 pitches in the seventh inning the other night, predominantly just throwing fastball.

He's got some swag out there. He's confident. He knows what he's doing. He's a big guy on the mound, he controls his body very well, and he's filling up the strikes now.

The guy pitching today Will Warren is sort of under the radar. He had like a nice year last year.

He obviously gets the nod here in the home opener. What have you seen from Will last year and even in his first start that either excites you or concerned you about him?

His velocity's up. His mechanics's up. He's moved.

His mechanics are better.

He's moved on the rubber to the third base side, and that suits him well.

It seems to have freed up his delivery where he's added one or two miles an hour on his overall velo.

I think the key with Warren is his secondary pitches in command.

He's got great break on his sweeper, and his slider breaks a ton, but it's the command that needs to take the next step. Can he throw it for strikes? Can he just miss with it? And then his change up to lefties. That's the real key for Warren moving forward, but he's unbelievably durable. He's, you know, with the type of endings that he threw last year as a rookie pitcher, that's valuable. Well, durability and posting up and not getting injured is a real skill trait.
