Are you a First Amendment absolutist? How about the right of a chancellor of a major state university

to make pornography in his spare time? I'm Scott out with Bill Whittle and Stephen Green,

Gentlemen, I'm sure you've seen the story. Joe Gow, who was the University of Wisconsin

at lacrosse chancellor, has just lost his job.

He was planning to step down and assume a professor of communications position later in 2024,

but the board has fired him because they found out that his side gig, his side hustle,

was actually making porn videos with his wife.

Stephen Green, this raises, and by the way, Joe Gow seems now inclined to make the argument

that he was fired because of a violation of his freedom of speech.

And Steve Green, this is an interesting case because, as you know, freedom of speech is an issue

that can come up when it involves the federal government.

And in this case, it's a federally funded university.

And so, you know, the issue could be brought to the fore.

Do you think that the former chancellor can be successful in getting his job back,

or at least getting compensation for his unjust firing,

by making the argument that it was none of their business to interfere with his freedom of speech as long as he was doing his chancellor job correctly.

Well, I'm just curious to know if he loses his lawsuit, if he'll move on from making pornography with his wife to making pornography with the wives of the people who fired him.

I'm going to keep an eye out for the headlines on that one.

You never know. That said, you know, it's always complicated when sex is involved. And that's
