The acting and council president said today that they cannot truly heal as a council, as

a city. They cannot effectively govern until these three council members are no longer

in their roles. And now, and Nuri Martinez has officially resigned today, the two other

council members who were involved in this conversation that was secretly recorded. They

are still in their roles on the council. The one of them, his term is up in just a couple

of weeks.

I saw this headline. That's the LA City Council story. State AG to look into LA redistricting

after leaked racist talk. Yeah, I've been saying that's a legit issue. I mean, that's

something you should be seriously concerned about. There are reasons to infer that these

people would be willing to mess with redistricting to benefit a race. Very uncool. The individual

slits of people though, come on. I hate that kind of language that we just heard like

for the city to heal. What the city to heal? I hate that. I know what a narrative not rooted

in reality. I know. For the city to heal. So there are two main points to this story,

I think. And one of them is being reported unreasonably well. One's being missed completely.

The point number one is that these Latino, Hispanic, whatever people are utterly delighted

to more than willing to engage in racial disparagement and bigotry and the rest of it as much as

any clansmen or whatever. I mean, it's just the idea that no, it's white people who have

bad impulses and everybody else is just an angel. It's just an ugly joke, please. And one

of the most specific, I mean, the whole referring to the kids, the black kid is a monkey

to me. That just doesn't hold water. I mean, just everybody calls kids monkeys. Unless
