Armstrong and Gettyshow.

The Trump team knows that Jack Smith has been aggressively investigating January 6th, but

this target letter came as something of a shock to them.

In fact, Trump's top advisors, including his lawyers, had told him that they expected

that Jack Smith at the special council would issue a final report and not an indictment.

In fact, when this target letter came in late Sunday, they didn't even have a legal

team, a full legal team in place to defend him on this case.

It's going to be really interesting.

If it actually goes to trial, and we get to hear about it, on deciding a number of issues,

I guess Jonathan Turley will point out some of those for us here, and then we can discuss.

So the question is, does Smith has something that the January 6th committee didn't have?

And he's going to need it.

I mean, he's going to need something that persuades a skeptical public that this isn't just politics.

He's going to have the largest jury in history, because this election is going to be an election

on these cases.

And there's going to be tens of millions of people likely voting on the merits of these

cases.

Smith better stick the landing if he brings this indictment to show that this isn't politics.

And in order to do that, he needs evidence that is really going to shock the conscience

and to say, all right, I understand why you did this.
