Hi, Adam.

Hey, Andrea. Thanks for having me again.

So David Sloan Wilson, you actually knew him far before his book came across my desk.

So tell me about him.

That's right. In the mid-1990s, I was an undergraduate at

State University of New York at Binghamton, now known as Binghamton University. Well, now you're

dating yourself. That's true. That's true. But he was one of my favorite professors. He's an

incredible educator, great teacher, and a highly inventive thinker to an evolutionary biology.

So I had a couple of really influential

professors when I was at the University of Toronto doing my undergraduate degree. And I certainly

remember my biology class, you know, first year bio that every pre-med student took. And I remember

being shocked at how much of the biology class was devoted to the study of evolution. I mean, to me,

I thought, like, well, didn't I already know this? I mean, I'd learned about the evolutionary

theory in high school. You know, it seemed like the data were unequivocal. And so I didn't

understand why, like, the entire course was essentially designed around the theory of evolution.
