Summary
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (05/18/2023):
3:05pm- On Thursday, several Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) whistleblowers testified before a House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The hearing addressed alleged abuses of power by leadership within the FBI. In his opening statement, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) warned the FBI whistleblowers that following their testimony before Congress they would likely be improperly targeted by elements of the federal government—citing Matt Taibbi as an example of what could happen. Four days after testifying before Congress, Internal Revenue Service officers alarmingly showed up to the home of independent journalist Matt Taibbi.
3:25pm- During Thursday’s House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Rep. Chris Stewart applauded the FBI whistleblowers for their bravery and condemned the bureau’s leadership for being overtly politicized.
3:30pm- While testifying before a House Select Committee, former FBI agent turned whistleblower Steve Friend stated that the bureau retaliated against him after he questioned statistics being used to determine that domestic extremism was a dire threat.
3:45pm- Robert Bork Jr.—President of the Antitrust Education Project & head of the Bork Group, a public affairs agency—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the left’s recent attacks on Justice Clarence Thomas and, subsequently, the legitimacy of the Supreme Court. Bork notes that while progressives have spent considerable effort and time unjustly questioning Justice Thomas’ “morals”, Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor refused to recuse themselves from cases involving organizations they were affiliated with, like Harvard University and Penguin Random House books.
4:05pm- During Thursday’s House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) asked whistleblower Marcus Allen to answer for a tweet belonging to another person also named Marcus Allen…
4:10pm- Monmouth County GOP Chairman, and Sheriff, Shaun Golden joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss New Jersey politics—specifically, a seemingly unconstitutional bill crafted by Democrats targeting Golden in an attempt to remove him from his position as party chairman.
4:30pm- Disney has announced it will not follow through with its plans to build a $1 billion office complex in Lake Nona, Florida. Though Disney hinted that the project was scrapped because of its ongoing feud with Governor Ron DeSantis, Rich and Matt believe it’s more likely a symptom of some struggling business segments within the company. For example, in the first Quarter of 2023, Disney+ lost a whopping 4 million subscribers.
4:50pm- On Wednesday, economic reporter at The Washington Post Jeff Stein tweeted a misquote credited to Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) by Fetterman’s office. Stein notes, “[t]hough it captured his meaning, I deleted the tweet since some of the words in the quote were inaccurate.”
5:05pm- During Thursday’s House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) asked whistleblower Marcus Allen to answer for a tweet belonging to another person also named Marcus Allen. According to political commentator Greg Price, Rep. Sanchez found “a random Twitter account with 118 followers with the same name” and then claimed it belonged to Allen. There’s more than one person in the world with the name “Marcus Allen”?!?! Shocking!
5:10pm- House Democrats, led by Congresswoman Cori Bush (D-MO), introduced a resolution calling for $14 trillion in reparations to be paid to the descendants of former slaves.
5:15pm- While speaking with FBI whistleblowers at Thursday’s House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Rep. Matt Gaetz’ (R-FL) questioning seemingly revealed that undercover officers were present at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021. Gaetz tweeted that this is despite FBI Director Christopher Wray saying otherwise.
5:30pm- Congressman Dan Goldman (D-NY) has had a bad week—dismissing the Durham report as an “abuse of power” while on MSNBC and then defending Antifa during a House Oversight hearing.
5:50pm- Anyone going to the annual Bilderberg meeting?
6:05pm- According to reports, Bud Light will launch new, camouflage bottles with proceeds from sales going towards the families of American military service members. Will this be enough to restore sales following an unpopular association with LGBTQ+ activist Dylan Mulvaney?
6:15pm- While speaking with Katy Tur on MSNBC, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy hinted he would be willing to provide Mifepristone to citizens of states that ban the abortion pill in the event courts rule the ban is constitutional—defying court orders. Gov. Murphy said of the potential ruling, “it will cost people their lives…women in particular.”
6:35pm- Ford, Tesla, Volvo, Volkswagen, and BMW are among the auto manufacturers that have eliminated AM radio from their electric vehicles—but a group of bipartisan lawmakers, including Senators Ed Markey (D-MA) and Ted Cruz (R-Tx), want to prevent the removal arguing public safety is at risk.
6:45pm- On Thursday, several Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) whistleblowers testified before a House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.
