What's up everyone? How you doing? Hope you're doing well. I'm doing decent. Let's go ahead and get started with the episode feeling kind of funky today.

All right, we're talking about Rosemary, an herb that it seems like my love for only grows over time. I think as a child I was really not into it and then as I began my gardening journey of course I had a new interest because of the growing process and

then now working it into a lot of different recipes in the kitchen it is

certainly inching its way up into my top selections for herbs but today we're talking about companion planting rosemary.

Why would you want to do this?

What might you, you know, want to actually companion plant?

So first of all, Rosemary is good for more than just the kitchen.

It has a nice oil that can attract or repel certain insects.

We talked with Jessica Wallace or a couple weeks back

about how plants communicate with insects.

So there's certainly a lot going on there.

And Rosemary also keeps away some animal pests.

Here's one thing that's interesting.

It is said to improve the flavor of sage when

planted in proximity. Now do I know that this is an absolute scientific fact? No I do not.

It could be one of those old wives tales, but it's certainly something I'm going to

test out and we'll see if it

works. I don't know what the mechanism for that would be but I certainly am willing to try it out

because it's all in the name of science guys.

All right, so in a kitchen garden,

you just pretty much have to have Rosemary,

but it would be kind of fun to plant a lot of the other herbs

...
