Hello, hello, hello, my fellow gardeners, Kevin Spear to hear from Epic Gardening.

We have the man himself, Cameron, back on the show from the busy gardeners, Cam, I mean,

fruit trees, right?

We need them to produce fruit a lot of the times they don't.

And there's a lot of reasons why they don't.

So I'm curious in your own orchard, as well as talking to some people who have messaged

you, what are the things that you see as the most common reasons that that's going on?

Yeah, fruit trees, not fruiting is one of the more frustrating things that can happen,

because fruit trees are expensive and they take a long time.

And so you're just waiting for fruit to pop out when they don't, you're thinking, what

is it?

And there are a handful of things that can cause your fruit tree to not fruit.

Maybe the biggest one, if you have an established fruit tree is stress, trees experiencing

some sort of stress.

And a lot of times that can have to do with watering.

Now sometimes it's under watering.

If maybe it's been neglected or you've got a broken sprinkler valve or whatever is happening,

but something that happens often also is over watering.

And that's something that gardeners, inexperienced gardeners and new gardeners don't often know.

You see a tree that's struggling and you think, oh, put more water on it.

But trees need to be able to breathe and those roots need to be able to breathe.

And so you may want to just check your watering with a really inexpensive moisture meter.
