Loving money is akin to adultery because loving money means that you're not trusting God,

you're not loving God. What does God say about money? We see these themes in Scripture. We see the

contrast of these things that we mentioned before, right? So being greedy versus being generous,

discontentment versus contentment, ownership versus stewardship. Why does Jesus talk about money so much?

Because our attitude toward money reflects our attitude

toward God. It's a heart indicator. It's a litmus test for whether or not you love God or not.

You can still ask questions of God while trusting Him. So that's different than because a lack of

trust would promote different questions. But a trusting in God is asking, what does God have for me

maybe in this season of lack? It's something he would have whether we give it to him or not, and that's glory. The call out of loving money is a call into loving God, a call out of self- glorification, vain, glory. Line up your beliefs next to Scripture and then submit those beliefs underneath the authority of Scripture. That's where we find the freedom. That's where we find the joy. That's where you find the

blessings and the wisdom. Let your mind, your heart, let all of it be involved in the giving.

And the only thing we could ever give to God is something he would have whether we give it to him or not.

And that's glory.

So, Lena, today we are stumbling on, not stumbling on it because we plan this, but our listeners are stumbling on a rare unicorn in the fierce marriage podcast, ecosphere. Is that the right word?

We're going to talk about money. We haven't talked about money a lot.

And I think that's not by design. I think it's because we realize that a lot of folks, like, they don't necessarily listen to the money episodes quite as much. And so we're like, we want to find what's most helpful to people. That being said, man, money causes a lot of arguments in marriage. Right. It's attached to a lot of issues, I think, with our heart, which we'll get talking about that scripture and Jesus directly deals with money and our hearts, wealth and resources.

And within marriage, I mean, just in our own conversations, it really touched on almost

every aspect of marriage.

And there's five pillars that we at Fierce Marriage here believe that marriage kind of is

upheld upon or, you know, that create the marriage, right?

It's priorities, it's intimacy and conflict and communication.
