Hello and welcome to the Retro Hour podcast, episode number 72,

0:34.7

your weekly dose of retro gaming and technology news with me, Dan Wood. And me, Ravi Abbott. And you know, actually, it is so nice to be in a cool air-conditioned studio tonight, isn't it? Oh, God, it's so hot. I was in Skeggy earlier, playing on some arcades, actually. And we came back to Nottingham, and it was just, like, stuffy and horrible, and none of that sea air, you know.

0:54.5

I was walking in a bit earlier on.

1:11.0

There's that smell of summer and like barbecues kind of wafting across the air. It was pretty nice. I'm sure those weren't your legs wearing shorts. Yeah, they don't see the sun very often. They've got on there. But, you know, I think we're much more at home, where we are right now, in a darkly litre room with the glow of computer screens on our face. Oh yeah, definitely.

1:12.4

But that said, I was out in about last weekend at Revival 2017. Oh, that sounded so good. I was so jealous because you went on the Saturday, didn't you, and it was all kicking off. Well, it was, my cars broke at the moment, so my missus gave me a liftover, and also Joe, Alex and Rich,

1:28.1

a couple of other mates in there as well. So this is like, you know, four dudes stuffed into

1:32.0

a little Ford Fiesta. Yeah, and they're quite big dudes. It was quite a snug journey, I've got to

1:36.9

say. I was kind of sat in Alex's knee for most of the journey. I did bring my Nintendo Switch for

1:40.7

though, and we were having like a Mario Kart and Tetris tournaments all the way there as well.

2:01.3

So that was kind of fun. Then when we got there though, I mean, you know, we've been to a revival a few times in the past. But this is definitely the busiest show that I've ever seen. Yeah, yeah, because usually we go on the Sunday, but this was on the Saturday. And I think it's growing and growing this revival event as well. There's others like play experts.

2:01.2

Well, the thing about it is as well. There's others like play experts.

2:51.6

Well, the thing about it is as well, I mean, we did say that we were going to be there. And we saw messages on our Facebook, people going, oh, you know, we'll be there as well. It's also hard to know how many people are going to meet at these events. But I've got to say, I'm not exaggerating when I say I'm maybe met about 40 listeners. That's amazing. It's like, you know, we pump this show out and we see numbers come back, but we don't see people. Yeah. And kind of having that reaction is just fantastic. It is weird, because you're right. I mean, we sit in this little studio here, you know, we're talking into like a microphone in front of us each, and it's like, but then when you actually get out of me people and, You know, I met guys who'd come over from like Poland and Ireland and places like that and they were like you know yeah we'll listen week in week out I listened to one guy I listened to like 60 of our shows back to back on a cross-Europe road trip recently so uh it must be sick to death of our voices by now yeah that's dedication but when you know people I love that story you were talking about that, that guest you had on. You know, actually, one of the comments I heard quite a lot when I was there was more
