Olivia Edwards asking out of her national letter of intent and the first commit out of the transfer portal for Lady Balls.

That happened earlier this week, and that is Avery Mills. Avery Mills happened on Wednesday morning. So, Caleb Jarrow with the Daily Times. Let's talk about it, man. What can you tell us about Avery Mills? One of one, right? Well, they're technically one of two. Tennessee has a signee that's still expected to come to campus. So the Lady Volz at the time of this recording has two players, but Avery Mills is a player coming from Liberty that kind of fits the scheme, right? A three-point shooter and one that, you know, was coveted by Kim Caldwell. Yeah, I think, you know, this is kind of an inclination of where Tennessee is going to go in the portal. You know, last year you had the, the star-studded freshman class that was top two full of four stars and five stars and went out in the portal and you know, last year you had the star studded freshman class that was top two full of four

Not many people know who Avery Mills is until she entered the portal and now she's committed

to Tennessee.

She shot 42.9% from the field last year, 42.7% from beyond the arc, which is obviously very good

and something Tennessee needs. And she averaged 15.3 points, four rebounds and 2.2 assists and

about 31 minutes a game last year. So her stats say that she can shoot and that she's going

to be somebody who's consistent. And if we know anything about the lady balls from this past

season was that there was no consistency and the shooting was all over the place it was a team that was you know top 10 top five and three point

attempts per game but was down in almost 200th in three point percentage so the recipe for success

wasn't really there but i think this is like i said inclination of where Tennessee is going to go you're

going to see more you know maybe instead of big names from other power, maybe you go and get some mid-major players who fit the system more and are willing to buy into what Kim Caldwell wants to do, because as she said in her season-ending press conference, there is no plan B this year. She's going with her system and she's going to live and die by that. So it's a big switch of going from the flashy to players who will fit the system to a team. Yeah, I mean, certainly they're not all going to be major players, but there are going to be some, I would imagine. I would also keep an eye on players from Georgia and from Florida State, where Tennessee just got two assistants, and there could be some players that would follow in that regard. We'll see what happens. I'm going to ask you about Naomi White here in a moment,

the leading freshman score in the country at Northern Arizona. Tennessee is expected to host

her on a visit at some point this week as well. But yeah, as you went on, as you kind of spoke about,

she's a first team all conference honoree, 42.7% on from three this year,
