I can honestly see why this area of Gaza in the southern Levant would be such a focal point in conflict.

It is the sea and land gateway to get you from the fertile crescent to Egypt.

The coastal route, this coastal route is really great for trade and communications,

and there's a sea route that goes through there as well.

Trade routes run through this area for that reason. It is that

bridge to get you from wealthy Mesopotamia, wealthy Upper Levant, into wealthy Egypt. It's also

beautiful. There is evidence of people even during ancient times going to hang out on the beach.

This area had incredible beaches.
