I'm Emily Sargent, and I've been investigating a secretive and dangerous practice called Conversion Therapy.

Life is completely suicidal.

They're overwhelming emotion that I'd mean, but it's utter loneliness.

I've walked back alone crying in the darkness.

It's the most traumatising thing that you can go through.

Conversion therapy is an attempt to change or suppress someone's sexuality or gender identity.

And shockingly, under current UK law, it's perfectly legal.

We need to call it conversion abuse. It's certainly not a therapy.

It is based on the fundamental principle that being lesbian gay by sexual or transgender

is wrong, is a flaw, a failing, something that needs to be corrected.

In 2018, the government promised a ban, but three years later, we're still waiting.

In this series, I'll investigate why, and what damage is being done to LGBTQ plus people

of Britain in the meantime. I'll even go undercover.
