In the early 1980s, a young film fan named Quentin Tarantino walked into a local video store in the South Bay of Los Angeles.

If I saw a mom-and-pop video store, or actually if I saw any video store, I would just go in to see what they had.

There, he met another young film lover, employee Roger Avery.

This is in the days when we still rented beta tapes, and that's when you started walking in.

Quentin and Roger became fast friends and helped open up a new video store in Manhattan Beach, the now legendary video archives.

We became a topic of conversation all over Manhattan Beach because we had this cool store.

We watched movies all day. We talked about movies all day.

Customers came in just to talk with us.

The rest is history. And now, decades later, Quentin and Roger are teaming up again to watch

the original tapes from the Video Archives Collection.

Now the thing is when Video Archives went out of business, I bought the collection.

We're watching the video cassettes.

It's now watching the Blu-rays.

And if we don't have the video cassette, they can't be counted as a movie.

It has to be from the collection.
