Yes, it’s a Monday and not a Thursday, but today, I’m announcing something special. Kicking off next week, we’re going to host occasional, short series that are focused on a tangly or complicated theme—big concepts that require multiple voices and perspectives to put them into proper context. We’re kicking off next Monday with a look at Mystical Systems, or you could call them Personality Systems: Enneagram, Astrology, Tarot, and Human Design. Some people might think of these ways of understanding the world as silly, while others will stake their lives—and sometimes every big decision—on them. I’m somewhere in between: I think there’s nothing more powerful than hearing about yourself, and how your life likely unfolded, from someone who knows nothing more about you than your birth sign. 0:24.4	special series that's launching next Monday and will run for four weeks. And there are more of these to come.
0:32.5	We'll see how it goes. They might not last forever. But I wanted to leave Thursday's episodes alone. Pulling the thread will
0:40.1	largely be exactly the same, 45 to 60-minute conversations with today's cultural leaders about the
0:47.6	big questions of today. And on Mondays, we'll dip into thornyer or bigger, more complex conversations, conversations that might
0:56.1	require multiple perspectives and voices in order to give them a fuller context.
1:02.3	And we're starting with something that's kind of fun.
1:05.9	I call these mystical systems.
1:09.0	You could call them personality systems, but we also know them as astrology,
1:14.5	human design, taro, aneogram. These are the systems that we often find ourselves turning to
1:21.8	when we need to make a decision or understand where we are at this moment in time. And of course, a lot of these systems are derided as silly or stupid or party games.
1:34.8	And while I never think that you should rely on any external authority to make decisions,
1:41.0	I do think that these systems really have a place in our culture, not only because many of them
1:46.3	are ancient, downloaded with really strange beginnings that at least make my imagination
1:53.0	go wild. After all, astrologers are in the Bible, even if the Bible might not love
1:59.7	astrologers in return. But I also think that
2:04.5	there's nothing more powerful in a way than sitting across from someone who knows nothing more
2:10.1	about you than your birth date, birth time, and place of birth, and then being told all about you, including what's likely unfolded in
2:20.1	your life, what you're doing with your life, who you are, and then what's to come. When you get a
2:25.8	reading like that that's extra powerful and accurate, it can shift your entire understanding
2:32.4	of the world. For me, it suggests that maybe there might be a master blueprint, a master plan,
