Here's a little taste of once coming up soon on the History of

the Papacy podcast. These are all just clues to my existence, as René Descartes said,

I think, therefore I am. That's all very high order thought on existence, though. The more

important question is how to prove or show if a person in the past actually existed, at least

with as much certainty as possible. Then after you think you've proven that someone existed, how do you prove

that the person existed in the way that you think they did? I was thinking of a lot of examples of

this. One example that's maybe a little near and dear to my own circumstance is I was just I had a

subscription to the website ancestry DNA and I've heard family stories that about our ancestry and

they generally stop at my great-grandfather, so four generations up from me.

Through just poking around a little bit in ancestry DNA, the family lore was that my great-grandfather

came from the old country and had sort of country, old-country ways. But that's not exactly the evidence that came

through in the ancestry DNA documents that were available on other people's family trees.

Now, I start to ask questions. Is this the same person? Are these documents accurate?

Are these documents attached to the person who I think they are?

I'm going to... In times like these, we all need a word of encouragement.
