Hey, they're beautiful people. Welcome to fans. Hi, the podcast while those complex and complicated conversations about the great areas in our lives is I'm entertainment journalists and editor and author and all these other things.

0:15.0

And I prefer Delta because I'm up at Ian Comfort Plus is almost like first class, Jared Hill getting ready for vacation coming up on the show today. It is almost national coming out day. And so we wanted to have a conversation about coming out.

0:33.0

We'll be talking about our coming out stories, what we love and what we hate about it. But first we got to get into what.

0:42.0

Which Revelle has spelled here as vaccine spelled like Maxine, but with a V is that not how you spell vaccine. Don't say that don't answer.

0:51.0

Okay, I was like, okay, it was a joke.

0:55.0

What is it? Okay. For today's past the popcorn, we want to talk a little bit about Ms. Funky, COVID, Dana. We obviously just had a conversation about Nicki Minaj, but wanted to have a little bit more conversation about about something that happened to me recently.

1:08.0

And I've not really known what to expect of it. I actually think this is a bit of past the popcorn and maybe a little bit of a tough question.

1:16.0

I recently went to a dinner. I traveled for an event. And it was a bunch of journalists in the room. And we're all because he be traveling.

1:26.0

We're all sitting around at dinner. And this is like the first night. And people start introducing themselves. And they say, hi, my name is, I do X thing. I'm vaccinated.

1:38.0

And then like what the hands up just so people know that they're vaccinated kind of thing. And then like, and then pass it on to the next person. And then like the next person was like, I'm so and so I do XYZ.

1:49.0

I'm vaccinated team Aderna. And then like the whole table went around and did that. And I just thought to myself, like, I was probably the fourth or fifth person. And I was like, I mean, I'm vaccinated and like, you know, we talked about on the show multiple times and on social media.

2:04.0

Like it feels weird to just like, bring up as an introduction of who you are. And it kind of strikes me as like, something that's becoming class adjacent, but maybe not a class.

2:18.0

But does that make sense? It's like a weird thing because I think about the folks that like are decidedly not vaccinated or either because they don't want to get vaccinated or they have, you know, some kind of compromise that that makes them unable to get a vaccinated or whatever.

2:33.0

I was taken a back by it. And I was wondering what you think. So to you, it feels as if vaccination status is becoming something that is exclusionary to some people and inclusionary to others. And therefore, it feels like a, a budding class of class divide, but not class like a class divide along vaccination lines is what you're saying.

3:02.0

Yeah, I'm going to call it class adjacent, but not class. Like, maybe it's course, but not a class. I don't know. It just, it just strikes me as as an interesting way to introduce ourselves. And like, even on the dating app, like, there's a thing that you can fill in, say, vaccinated and they will say that you're, you are a vaccinated person. And it's like, oh, well, I'm a Christian woman. I don't know nothing about them at.

3:29.0

Thank you for, for brushing me up, bringing me up to speed on. You're saying this to the person who literally wrote your last profile, bitch. Do not do it.

3:37.0

What are you talking about? I totally wrote your profile on, was it Bumble that you were on a couple of years ago? If I had a profile, this was like three years ago.

3:46.0

I wrote some banshee shit. And you were like, okay, and you posted it. And I was like, wait, I was joking. That sounds like right. Actually, that sounds very right. I remember we were in the car.

3:56.0

Anyway, but the question was, everybody at this event, I'm assuming, because you said you had to travel to this event. I'm assuming y'all had to be vaccinated to attend the event or not.

4:06.0

Yes. Right. Okay. Right. So it is odd to me that everyone would introduce themselves and their vaccination status if it was a requirement for you all to, to, to be there.

4:18.0

That was an element of it for me. That was weird too, yes. That said, I do feel like we're in this moment.

4:23.0

Now we're like, people have to figure out ways to be in space with other folks again, right? Like we haven't done that for a year and a half for the most part, right?
