One chapter tonight, chapter 22, because chapter 22 comes after chapter 21, which is what we finished last week.

So just one chapter that way we're not rushing through communion.

Interesting chapter. So why don't we pray?

We'll ask God's blessing on our time together.

If you would, please join with me. Father in heaven, thank you so much. God, you need to

now settle us down and settle our hearts and quiet our minds so that we can focus and concentrate and give

you our undivided attention so many things clamoring for our attention in this crazy

world that we're living in Lord please don't let that happen tonight. Don't let

our minds wander. Don't let those distractions take us away or keep us away from that which

you have for us tonight. Lord, we're just posturing ourselves before you as a hungry and thirsty people, knowing that only you

can satiate that hunger and that thirst that we have. And we're looking to you to do that,

especially for those who are really struggling and hurting and weary and heavy-laden.

Lord, we come to you as you said to. and hurting and weary and heavy laden.

And Lord, we know that you give us rest for our souls.

So thank you, Lord, in advance for what you're going to do in our time together tonight we pray in Jesus name amen and

amen all right so the chapter before us tonight could be rightfully read and even spoken

to corrupt world leaders today, not that they would listen, but it could be,

even though this was written for them then, it is so apropos for us today as we're going to see. God, through the prophet, Jeremiah is going to speak

this word now to these kings. These were evil kings that did that which was evil in the side of the Lord.

And we're going to see specifically what that evil was.

And chiefly, it was that they oppressed the people, defrauded the people.
