Hi everybody. I'm Jen Kirkman. Welcome to my podcast. What is this? You ask if you're new. I am a comedian. I have two comedy specials on Netflix streaming right now. I'm going to die alone and I feel fine from 2014 and just keep living from 2017. They are streaming now in Netflix. I'm also a best selling author of one book, but I did write to I can barely take care of myself and I know what I'm doing. Another lies myself.

And other lies myself and other lies I tell myself you can buy them both on Amazon or review by books and don't buy them used or else it doesn't go towards my book sales. And then I can never read another book. There you go. This wasn't supposed to be an ad.

This podcast is where I can show another side of myself be myself and you can enjoy being part of my weekly monologue. It's a friend leaving you a really long voicemail. Nothing is scripted. It's not joke per minute, but it is sometimes funny, sometimes serious, but always honest and real.

So this is the part of the show where I normally tell y'all my tour dates, but as you may know, as you may have noticed, there is a global pandemic.

And so I am not traveling. I'm not even allowed in some countries. Some states I'd have to quarantine for 14 days.

All right. So what are we going to talk about this week? I've got some listener emails to read you, but I think today we're going to talk about comments and cults.

Not cults like an animal cults like I'm in a cult. I'm wearing tin foil on my head and I'm waiting for the spaceship. That kind of cult.

The reason it came up with two reasons. We just recently had a comment that I missed out on. I didn't see it. I realized it was.

It was I'm not going to talk bad about myself. I was just going to say it was pretty dumb of me. Why are you so mean to yourself?

But I'll say it was. I wasn't using my best thinking thinking that I would go outside where I live, which is a city and look up in the sky and expect to see a comment. But the thing is, I don't live in, uh, you know, lights town USA. It's not like.

You know, I live in Los Angeles. There's some smog and city lights is not easy to see stars except the celebrities. Oh my god. Can you believe it?

Honey, the podcast is funny this week. I can tell she's she's being real silly.

But you know, I live in the valley. It's not as city ish and I do see stars. It I guess I didn't dawn on me that I probably wouldn't see the comment unless I went way out into the desert.
