on the failure of the atheist origin myth.

Well, thanks. It's good to be with you. Well, Evan,

you know, before we jump into the content of your latest book on the atheist origin myth,

I wanted to give our listeners some idea of your journey and how you came to write such a book.

Now, you grew up as a liberal Jew in New York City. Tell us a little about your childhood.

Well, I'm pretty satisfied with your description, you know, New York City born liberal Jew,

with all that that entails in the era starting in the 60s when I was born, 70s when I started

to come of age. It's also a fairly good description. It's an accurate description

my parents, you know, New York City born liberal Jews. So that was the environment in which I grew up.

Although it has to be understood, liberal, my liberalism as well as my Judaism were not thoughtful,

active positions and beliefs that I came to. They were sort of

the default factory setting for somebody born into my demographics. You know, if you were a New York

city born Jew, you were a liberal. And it's not like I gave liberal ideology or liberal policy any

thought whatsoever. I just knew growing up what all liberals

know, which is that liberals are good and conservatives are evil. You know, liberals like peace,
