Hello, my friends, and welcome back to the morning mindset, Gary Green here.

I'm glad you're with me.

I'm glad that you are devoting some time today to get your mind aligned with the truth

of God's word.

And today we have a truth that is coming to us from John chapter 8, verse number 12.

We're only going to look at this one verse because it's just packed with powerful things

for us to ponder today.

I wonder, friends, do you feel like we live in a very dark world?

And by dark, I'm talking about spiritually dark, emotionally and relationally dark.

I mean, there's all kinds of things going on around us that can make us feel like the

presence of God is nowhere to be found or the light of Jesus is nowhere to be found.

Well, today's passage is going to help us know how to think about that.

This is John chapter 8, verse number 12, and to set the stage for you, Jesus has been

discussing what he's been teaching and the things he's been doing with some religious

leaders and others of the Jewish faith who have been seeing him at one of their Jewish

festivals as he's been teaching.

And it says here in verse number 12, again, Jesus spoke to them saying, I am the light

of the world, whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light

of life.

Now using these words of light and darkness, I am immediately thrust into a context that

I know we've all been in before, where you're walking in a dark room or maybe out in the

woods in the dark, and you have a flashlight in your hand.
