Sankoff and David Hine, who conceived

the show and wrote the music, book, and lyrics. I could barely contain myself, you guys.

The show, of course, is nominated for seven Tony Awards this year, including Best Book of a Musical,

and Best Original Score for Irene and David, and the all-important best new

musical. It was so exciting to get to chat with them about how the show came to be and its

journey from their living room to Broadway. I loved them so much. Here's our conversation.
