If as a church we claim to believe in ongoing revelation, but then we get upset when additional meaning is brought or new understanding is brought or new ways of expressing our covenants are brought, we would be kidding ourselves.

We, you would be showing yourself to not actually believe in ongoing revelation.

Ongoing revelation

demands that these things continue to build in meaning. We can't have it both ways, wanting to

believe in ongoing revelation and believe that our covenants are written down anciently and we may

not deviate from them, that we may not allow God to continue to add layers of meaning.

That would be inconsistent to believe both of those.

Believing in ongoing revelation requires that sometimes new layers of meaning are going to be introduced

and how we learn about the covenants in the temple, new designs for garments,

or maybe even new types of garments get introduced

that show our outward expression and reminder of our covenants.

This is not a negative sign of change, as if the church is some flimsy thing or floating in

the breeze or shouldn't be changing.

If you've been following along every week or if you haven't, we consider a few different things about every come follow me passage.
