There are things in the Book of Mormon. We can't offer physical proof for. But is the historical level even the most interesting level here? No, it's not. There's no physical or written evidence of the exodus. And yet millions and millions of Christians accept it without a problem.

As always, we will be looking at one or more of the four things that we are concerned about on this podcast. What's going on in the story? What are the

themes that we should be picking up on? What's the interpretation? And are there any problems that

make this passage really hard? And today, we're talking about problems.

In the problems category, we talk about things like,

did God really command all of this?

Would a loving God give out such harsh punishments?

Why does it seem like the God of the Old Testament is so different than the

God of the New Testament or the Book of Mormon? These are very big questions about the Old Testament.

And the modern reader, honestly, has a very hard time getting away from them. And they are fair

questions to ask. You may have been tempted to occasionally say, I don't think the

God of the Old Testament is the same God that we worship today. This all seems crazy. Did God really

command all those plagues? Did God really command killing of babies or whatever horrific story you

want to think of from the Old Testament. So we're tackling that one today.

We simply view the world in such different way than the ancient people did. We kind of get

a little bit triggered by some of the stuff that we read. It's an entirely different worldview.
