ignoring contingency turns the Bible itself into a fraud.

But as we'll see, some failed prophecies, they were never intended to be predictions at all.

They're actually divine instructions, like with like a built-in expiration date.

Let me give you some examples.

So one of the mistakes people make when evaluating Joseph Smith is failing to distinguish

between a prophecy, a prediction of the future, and a commandment. A commandment is an instruction.

Right? If I tell my kids, if you clean your room, we'll go for ice cream and they don't clean their

rooms. The lack of ice cream does not make me a liar, right? They didn't clean the room.

It makes the promise conditional.

We see this in like Doctrine and Covenants, 58 and 82 in other places.

The Lord is bound when we do what he says.

And when we don't, you have no promise.
