Today, Isaiah 1 through 12.

So as we begin today, many of you may be thinking yourself, Isaiah, uh-oh, I don't know

about you, but when I grew up in the church and in Sunday

school and in seminary, Isaiah was always seen as this scary part of the scriptures that

nobody can understand. And I had teachers try to convince us, no, this is good. If you and if we

do our job over these next five weeks of covering Isaiah, by the time

we're done, you aren't just going to look at Isaiah and say, oh yeah, I can read it now,

I can understand it now, but you're going to love it. You're going to want to spend more

time immersing yourself in these words.

As we jump in, there is so much to cover. So we would just say, put aside any negative preconceptions

you may have about Isaiah. And let's roll up our proverbial sleeves and dig in and see what we can find.

So let's begin with a phrase that Taylor likes using.
