Today, 2nd Kings chapter 2 through 7.

0:32.2

So in this particular lesson, we're going to pass the baton from Elijah, one of our probably the most famous prophet

0:39.0

up north in the kingdom of Israel. He's going to pass the baton to Elisha. Now, an interesting

0:46.6

overlay that is very clear from the scripture writers and the editors through time,

1:31.9

ready to be translated, and he needs to pass on the baton to the next in line, which is

1:48.4

1:55.5

by their count, he performed 10. By the way, I parsed them out, he performed 12. The actual number doesn't matter.

2:04.3

He performed a lot of incredible miracles. The significant thing here is when Elijah is going to be

2:10.3

given the call to be the next prophet, if you look at chapter 2, verse 9, he says, and it came to pass that when they were gone

2:19.4

over that Elijah said unto Elijah, ask what I shall do for thee before I be taken away from

2:24.9

thee. And Elijah said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
