And as I ruminate on what we're going to talk about, I just, he's at the combine,

the draft is coming up, they're talking of prospects, just give me a draft where the

Patriots aren't trying to prove they're smarter than everyone else.

Just do what's simple and right in front of you with the most secure, clear, obvious players

to take.

And they've done that on occasion in recent years.

Drake may be in a perfect example of it.

You could take him at three, even though I wanted them to complicate it a little bit and trade down.

But they could have done that and still.

Be that as it may.

Drake May was a sensible pick.

at 15 was it you needed those spots who was a player who filled that spot it made sense to take that

player easy picks but for instance in the in the drafting of Christian Gonzalez,

the Patriots and Bill Belichick mightily considered actually taking Keon White at that spot,

who they got in the second round.

They took Cole Strange in 2022, eliciting the Fawz from Sean McVeigh and Les Sneed out in Los Angeles.

And they apologized for laughing in public at the Patriots pick because there is a level of respect.

You showed a Bill Belichick for all he's accomplished.

But, you know, in hindsight, you see why that was a guffaw-worthy pick.
