Summary
(00:00-29:26) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jimmy Cook, James Boyd, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the surprising release of Ronnie Harrison Jr. yesterday for the Colts. James highlights some reasons as to why he believes that Ronnie was released, go over the preseason rollercoaster for Anthony Richardson, and then react to the news of the NFL changing the emergency quarterback rule.
(29:26-41:18) – Jimmy and James continue the Anthony Richardson discussion by pointing out something Eddie said about his performance in Cincinnati. The reason Jimmy points it out is because Colts fans won’t tolerate Richardson and his receivers not being on the same page during the regular season like they would in the preseason.
(41:18-49:11) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jimmy and James continuing the conversation from last week from what Kirk Herbstreit said about entertaining the thought of benching Anthony Richardson for Joe Flacco if Richardson struggles.
(49:11-1:15:20) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 joins Query & Company to discuss Beech Grove’s return to On Patrol Live, the rule change that was announced today about the emergency QB rule, assesses if the Colts cut Ronnie Harrison Jr. because of potentially keeping Sam Ehlinger as the third quarterback, examines how aggressive the Colts could be with trading late round picks for players that could be cut, believes that Nick Cross will be the second starting safety alongside Julian Blackmon in week one against the Houston Texans, and is in the thinking that Anthony Richardson will be a boom or bust quarterback.
(1:15:20-1:35:37) – The longtime voice of Indiana University football and basketball, Don Fischer, makes his first weekly appearance on Query & Company with Jimmy Cook and James Boyd to highlight the shift that he has seen from Curt Cignetti from all the talking he did to being down to business now, elaborates on how he has adjusted to the new Big Ten teams in the conference, shares what he saw from Kurtis Rourke in spring and fall practices, and admits that Tayven Jackson has improved immensely from last year.
(1:35:37-1:39:03) – Hour number two concludes with Jimmy and James discussing IU vs Illinois with James being an Illinois graduate and Jimmy being an IU graduate.
(1:39:03-2:05:50) – The final hour of the program starts with Jimmy Cook, James Boyd, and Eddie Garrison discussing the breaking news surrounding Ceedee Lamb signing a contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys. It leads to a conversation about how teams construct their rosters in today’s NFL and what the future holds for NFL teams paying wide receivers with so many talented prospects entering the league every year.
(2:05:50-2:24:29) – The Athletic’s David Lubban joins James and Jimmy on Query & Company to share his thoughts on Georgia Tech upsetting Florida State to begin the college football season, assesses who is under more pressure between Sherrone Moore at Michigan or Kalen DeBoer at Alabama with both coaches replacing two highly respected coaches, and examines the future for IU and Purdue underneath their head coaches.
(2:24:29-2:29:54) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day, Jimmy sharing a bet that he hit over the weekend, and JMV joining the guys in studio to discuss the Ronnie Harrison Jr. cut and the emergency QB change.
