Summary

(00:00-24:22) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Derek Schultz filling in for Jake Query discussing how the bye week went as bad as possible for the Indianapolis Colts. Derek goes through the AFC to compare the teams the Colts could be playing in the NFL Playoffs because of how wide open the conference appears to be.

(24:22-40:48) – Voice of the Hoosiers, Don Fischer, joins Derek Schultz on Query & Company to discuss how big of a deal it is for the IU football program to have a player like Fernando Mendoza that can be pushed out there since Anthony Thompson, the injuries that the Hoosiers are dealing with right now heading into the bye week, and recaps IU’s close win over Incarnate Word yesterday.

(40:48-45:05) – The first hour of the show concludes with Derek Schultz sharing some more thoughts on IU dominating the Wisconsin Badgers in the second half after a lethargic first half.

(46:06-1:05:30) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 & FO59 makes his weekly visit on Query & Company and talks with Derek Schultz about what he did during the bye week, shares where his concern level is right now with DeForest Buckner’s neck injury, evaluates the MVP race with Jonathan Taylor in the mix for the award, and highlights the recent struggles for the offensive line in pass protection.

(1:05:30-1:21:05) – Derek Schultz continues the Colts conversation by highlighting some of the concerns that have popped up in the last two games for the Colts ahead of the bye week. He looks at their remaining schedule and assesses the worst they could possibly perform the rest of the was and compliments them in a way he hasn’t been able to the last ten years.

(1:21:05-1:28:41) – The second hour of Query & Company concludes with Derek Schultz highlighting some of the sports headlines and chatting a little bit about the struggles for the Indiana Pacers as they take on the Detroit Pistons tonight.

(1:28:41-1:46:14) – Derek Schultz tips off the final hour of the show by giving some love to the Purdue Boilermakers after picking up a win at Alabama on Thursday night and then defeating a scrappy Akron team. He also comments on IU squeaking out a win yesterday against Incarnate Word to improve to 4-0 in the first year with Darian DeVries. Derek also comments on what he has seen from the Indianapolis Colts through the first ten games of the season.

(1:46:14-2:05:56) – With it being a new week for the Indianapolis Colts, Shane Steichen provided updates on Anthony Richardson Sr., DeForest Buckner, and Charvarius Ward. Derek shares what Steichen said. Mark Montieth joins the show to discuss the early season struggles for the short-handed Indiana Pacers, notes the shooting woes for Ben Sheppard & Jarace Walker, highlights what fans are saying in the midst of this 1-12 start with college basketball starting, and reminds people that there is still a lot of games left to be played and that players are going to be healthy soon.

(2:05:56-2:09:36) – Today’s show closes out with Derek Schultz being joins by JMV in studio to preview his show and share some final thoughts!
