Summary
(00:00-29:45) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison by sharing some of their thoughts on how the Colts looked in the first preseason game. The biggest takeaway is that they did not want to overanalyze seven snaps from the offensive starters. Also, they debate on who they believe would be the person to light the torch at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
(29:45-40:01) – Jake pays off his tease from the end of last segment where he predicts that Laiatu Latu will be AP Rookie Defensive Player of the Year. Jimmy chimes in with his opinion on that it would be a big monkey off the back of Chris Ballard by finally hitting on a defensive end that he’s drafted. Jake also highlights the performance of the guy he has been all in on during camp.
(40:01-45:35) – The first hour of the program concludes with Jake and Jimmy highlighting some of the comments made postgame by Anthony Richardson and Shane Steichen after the first preseason game.
(45:35-1:18:15) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, of CBS4/FOX59 joins Query & Company to share his observations of the Colts first preseason game, explains why teams find the joint practices more beneficial than the preseason games, examines how the tight ends performed in the first preseason game, states that he doesn’t feel any better about the secondary after the first preseason game, and questions how the Colts don’t know what they have at the free safety spot and need to see them in game action.
(1:18:15-1:30:31) – During their conversation with Mike Chappell, he elaborated on the future of preseason football. Jake and Jimmy have a longer discussion about the future of preseason football simply because of joint practices becoming more frequent and valuable in the eyes of coaching staffs.
(1:30:31-1:34:00) – Jake, Jimmy, and Eddie close out hour two be revealing what they did over the weekend.
(1:34:00-2:02:47) – Scott Agness from Fieldhouse Files joins Jake Query and Jimmy Cook to discuss Team USA’s run to a gold medal, believes that Tyrese Haliburton knew what his role going into the Olympics would be, states that he’s heard it is a groin injury for Haliburton but it didn’t impact his playing time, and explains how important it was for Andrew Nembhard to go through the Olympics with Team Canada. Also, Scott touches on some of the upcoming feature pieces that he has coming out.
(2:02:47-2:15:28) – Jake and Jimmy evaluate Anthony Richardson’s performance yesterday. Also, they go through the top twenty-five teams in the first poll released by the Associated Press.
(2:15:28-2:23:23) – Today’s show ends with Jimmy sharing his JCook Plays of the Day and JMV joining the guys in studio to share some of his thoughts on the Colts preseason game.
