Colossians. But I actually want to start tonight in Colossians chapter 2,

verse 7, which says have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in him.

Now, Paul talks a lot in the epistles about being in him, in him, in him, in him.

And so we really need to understand what that little amazing phrase means. What does it really mean when we say we are in

Christ? He uses the word roots here. The roots of your being should be deeply and firmly planted

in him. We know that when a tree is deeply rooted, that storms don't easily

destroy a tree like that. And so he's using that analogy that, and we're going to go to our

talks about how when a tree is planted the storms of life, not only don't blow it over,

but it continues to bear good fruit. And see, that's what we need as believers, no matter what's
