Now here's Joyce with the study on the book of Colossians.

And in the world's economy, what we do very often

says something to the people about how valuable we are.

But in God's economy, in the kingdom of God,

our worth and value is in being his child and Jesus dying for us

and knowing that he loves us. And then when we get that part right, then the dew, when you're

planted in Christ and you're rooted in him, then the fruit on your little branches, the doing, will come out of that

relationship that you have with him. So you can't just get fruit by effort. Have you ever seen

an orange tree standing somewhere going trying to make oranges.

So we can't just be Christ-like just by effort.

It has to be a lot of Jesus, a lot of the Word, a lot of the Holy Spirit,

and then some effort on our part, and then it all starts coming into place. Let me tell you something. If you're having

a huge problem with something in your life, I'll tell you what you do. Don't necessarily try

harder, spend more time with God. Amen? All right. I would love to stick on that for a long time, but I can't. So most blessed is the man

who believes in trust and relies on the Lord and whose hope and confidence the Lord is, for he shall be like a tree

planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river and it shall not see and fear when heat comes,
