Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. So tonight we're doing something a little bit different.

We are doing a deep dive into the book of Colossians, verse by verse, line by line, word for word.

Because this isn't just a letter written to a small church in the first century.

Y'all, this is a prophetic warning to the modern church, too.

And just for kind of laying some context here, we see that Paul is writing to a group of believers that are surrounded by spiritual confusion.

Does that sound at all familiar to the world that we live in?

You know, in Paul's day, you had these Jewish legalists saying, oh, you need the law, right?

You had these mystics saying you need visions, you need angels, you need secret wisdom. Okay, you had these mystics saying you need visions you need angels you need secret wisdom okay you

had philosophers saying you need logic and enlightenment and then paul is coming in coming in hot

saying no what you need is christ and guess guess what? Christ is enough.

And that's the whole heartbeat of Colossians.

Jesus is not part of the answer.

He is the answer.

When he says he is the way, the truth, and the life, that is literal. It's not allegorical. It's not

metaphorical. And it's certainly not optional. It's objective. Okay. So it's not Jesus plus law.

It's not Jesus plus spiritual experiences. It's not Jesus plus behavior. It's just Jesus. It's quite literally just

Jesus. And so today I want to walk you through this entire letter, one verse at a time. So go grab

your Bibles if you haven't already. And we're going to unpack what it meant to them then and what it means to us now. Because like I said,

this same spiritual deception that Paul is confronting here in the first century, it is alive

and well today. And it may not wear the same dress as it did then, but, you know, we see it manifest in

modern religion that's been carried on through manmade tradition.
