Summary

Critics of the Bible are prone to find controversial issues in complicated Scriptures and use them to discredit and dismiss God’s Word. This includes the occasional New Testament exhortations to “bondservants” which some translations refer to as “slaves.” Rather than editing God’s Word, apologizing for God’s Word, or dismissing God’s Word we should study God’s Word to find God’s wisdom. In these highly debated and controversial Scriptures, we learn how to be in authority like Jesus our Master, and under authority like Jesus our Servant – particularly on the job at work. Subsequently, we will learn together how to worship at work.

0:39.7	There are people that are critics of this book, they'll find fault and flaw with it.
0:44.0	There are also opponents of this book who find its central message in teaching to be
0:48.7	offensive and outdated and possibly even dangerous.
0:52.8	What happens for those who are critics or opponents of the Scriptures, they will find
0:57.6	more controversial sections of the Bible, they will read it out of context and then use
1:03.3	it as an opportunity to criticize to take what they consider to be the moral high ground
1:08.2	so that we can disregard or dismiss God's word and proceed forward with some other ideology.
1:14.4	That being said, one of the sections of Scripture, one of the themes of Scripture that is most
1:18.5	often chosen for this task of criticism or opposition are those Scriptures in regards
1:24.0	to slavery.
