And So, So we are joined by David Adler, who is the general coordinator for the Progressive International and also a friend and comrade of mine.

My name is David Adler. I'm a political economist and the general coordinator of the Progressive International, mostly based in Mexico City.

Here I am in London and making my debut here on the Red Nation, so it's a pleasure to be with you Nick.

Yeah, thanks for coming on and there's a lot to talk about but before we get into the meat and potatoes of the Colombian election a presidential election that just happened I wanted to maybe ask you just a general question about the role of the Progressive International

and where do you think the Progressive International, you know, is going in a place like Latin America because we do have,

I'm also a member of the Progressive International, but we do have quite a contingent in Latin America and we actually have several parliamentarians as well as now a

president who's a member of the Progressive International.

So I was wondering if you can maybe give us a little bit of a forecast

and what's going on.

Sure.

We were founded in May 2020 with a simple mission,

which was to unite organized organize, mobilize progressive forces around the world,

in particular at that moment in the face of a rising reactionary international.

So the name does not refer to progressive politics as much as it refers to this kind of contrast with especially at that moment founded in 2020

Confronting the Bolsonaro's and Duterte's and Erdogan's and trumps around the world.

And so came together and in those two years we've seen that progressive international grow around the world

to include movements, parties, trade unions that represent millions of people in all corners

of the planet but of course know, from launch we've really grown in places where that tradition of left

internationalism is a living tradition.

And I think it's not a coincidence that we've become quite strong in Latin America in the Western Hemisphere in particular,
