John Conquest, you may have heard that song before because it was from Alejandro's 80s

rock band The True Believers in its original incarnation a great band

when all the founding bands of Alt Country no wouldn't you say oh yeah and and and they rocked it was a hard-hitting band out of the Austin Texas scene this is

Alejandro's 18th studio album his first in six years

he's a guest on the show back in 2008 show 156 to be precise. I mean he's a legendary figure a career

that stretches back to the 70s. Pioneering punk rocker in the US now

Americana royalty.

You know, the nuns in San Francisco famously played

with the Sex Pistols during the Sex Pistols

final US show back in the 70s was with Rank and

file a pioneering alt country band the true believers as we mentioned.

Took it even further. Great band in Austin Texas. Solo act in the early 90s with a side trip to another punk rock band called Buick McCain, who were really great. A little glam in them, yeah. Very much so. A songwriter and a rocker who straddles the Roots Rock scene associated

with No Depression magazine in all country and also the punk glam scenes with the

roots in California as well as a side trip to New York City where he

stated that infamous Chelsea Hotel in the late 70s.
