If you're watching, I just want to make y'all to know, there is one show that I knew over the power rankings last weekend. I didn't have Penn State. Her text is in it, yes. In the top. That was us. And we caught some heat for it. Yeah. Well, to quote Major Payne, who's the dummy now? What is up, everybody? Welcome to Monday on Craning Company. We've already dropped the video today.

0:21.6

We dropped our Red River Shootout Preview, which is a massive one. Drop that earlier, so make sure you check that out. If you haven't, check out all the content we have. But since it's Monday on Crane & Company, we know that that's Power Ranking Monday. And that's what we're going to do today.

0:36.3

And there's some movement, especially in the back in here,

0:38.4

is we're getting ready for a week seven slate that is absolutely loaded. And the power rankings next week will probably look totally different than they do this week. But we're going to dive into it as usual with David Cohn, former Michigan quarterback, my brother from a Western State, Colorado wide receiver playing crane. And guys, before we get into the rankings, would you say, and David, I'll start with you,

0:58.4

that when we look at these matchups coming up this weekend, which we've previewed a bunch of

1:02.5

them already, this could be the biggest movement weekend that we've seen within the top 10 all season long.

1:09.0

Yeah, for sure, especially when you consider that some of these teams have already completed their schedules of non-conference of games. So now we're really moving into conference play. And I think that's where you're going to get not only a lot of movement nationally, but a lot of movement within the conference to where some of these teams are boxed out from their championship games and can really need to like sort of tiebreak scenario. Yeah. Yeah. Which, God, I hope we don't get down to, like, seven tiebreakers at the end with some of these conferences, which we could. I hope we do. But, but Blaine, you know, on that note, on the parody note, just because I don't want seven different tiebreakers to determine who wins what conference or gets to play in the conference championship game.

1:46.1

Still today as we sit, heading into week seven, I cannot remember a season. I'm talking about ever since I've watched college football that there has been this many teams that at this point we feel like can win a national championship, not make the playoff, not just win their conference, but win a national championship. And that's one of the fun things about these power rankings is for the past couple of weeks, we're like, you can make a case one through eight, one through nine, that this is the best team in the country. Yeah, it just feels like it's so wide open. Even like with Miami playing the way they are and the way they look. I mean, it's turning into a type

2:17.6

of season, which somewhat I enjoy is each week matters so much, not only from a win standpoint,

2:23.3

as just your team growing standpoint. It's going to come down. It's one of those things that

2:27.3

kind of reminds me of the NCAA basketball tournament. You go through the year, it matters

2:33.1

who is playing the best late. And the same thing kind of what you saw with Ohio State last year. I mean, right when you got on the playoffs, you started warming up and really saw that team come together and get better and better. And then just the road in the playoffs. So I think it's fantastic that we do have this parody, but still deep down, it still just kind of sucks not having that one team, that one villain, right? The Nick Sabin's out there. You don't have that coach this year, and you don't have that team this year. So there's good, good, sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit. Well, and to you, I want to get to that point when we get to one and two, because I'm sure a lot of people can probably guess what our one and two is. It's pretty much like everybody else is one and two. But there's an interesting argument, and you kind of hit at it about who should be number one right now. I want to save that. I want to start with our first four out, or our honorable mention, speaking about the NCAA basketball tournament. A couple new teams in here, a couple teams that have fallen kind of toward the back, starting with the new team, Virginia right here. You know, you have your loss at NC State, which is not a great loss, not a conference game, which is weird enough. Wild. We talked about that the other day. And I know that Florida State just lost to Miami and makes that Virginia win over Florida State look a little bit worse.

3:58.1

But this Virginia team, man, you watch them with what Tony Elliott's been able to do. They're a quality ball. They're not tricking people. I mean, they look pretty balanced offensively. We can talk about the turnovers. I know there's some problems there. But this Virginia team looks a lot more complete than what I thought we're going to see by a long shot at the beginning. They didn't fluke their way to a win over Florida State. I think that's what was most impressive to me.

3:59.7

Now, that win doesn't look quite as good now that Florida State has lost to Miami, but still, that's a great win. And I think that you brought up an important point. Yes, you lost to NC State, which is why you're in our honorable mention rather than being undefeated in our top 15, but not a conference loss because they scheduled

4:15.1

that on top of their ACC slate. So again, back to my original point today, that doesn't hurt

4:20.6

you in the ACC standing. So as we look right now, they're still at top of the ACC standings because

4:25.5

they've played more conference games than even Miami, who I think we will all agree is our front

4:30.0

runner in the conference right now.

4:31.3

A hundred percent. Blaine, the next team in here in honorable mention, again, we're not in the top

4:35.6

15, is Illinois. And you talk about just a weird three weeks. You go to Indiana, right? You get

4:44.2

destroyed. Then you beat USC at home. You go on the road and beat Purdue. I don't think they played great defensively. Purdue is a little bit better, honestly, on offense than what I thought they would be. But when you look at this Illinois team, you're about to get a shot.

4:55.6

Yeah.
