All right, we're locking in what we like, telling you what we think is going to happen. And we want to know what you think is going to happen in the comments below. Just let it fly. Let it go. We want to see what you have to say. As usual, David Cohn, former Michigan quarterback to my left, playing crane, |
| 0:57.7 | former Western State, Colorado wide receiver to my right. And guys, you know, we just had the first college football playoff reveal, which we reacted to last night. There's some questions in there. There's some things we like, some things we didn't like. If you hadn't seen that video, you need to check it out. But looking at this weekend, there's a reason game day is going to Lubbock. You know, Texas Tech and BYU is a huge matchup, not only for the college football playoff, but obviously for the Big 12 because they want to get as many teams in as possible. We went through some of those scenarios. Just overall, before we get into it, how do we feel about the slate this weekend? How would you rate this? Well, we got college football, so I'm pumped about it anytime. But these are the championship months. I know I say it every year, but these are when these teams start to prepare themselves to make a run. I mean, remember what the Buckeyes did in the playoffs last year? You know, and that was in large part because of what happened to them in November, losing to Michigan, was they were able to recalibrate and really go on that run. So, you know, we've seen some teams like, for instance, last year, we're going to talk about BYU. They started 9 and 0 a year ago, kind of fell off in November. Miami looked unbeatable for a large part of the season last year, |
| 2:01.3 | kind of fell off in November. You have some other teams right now going in the opposite direction. |
| 2:05.4 | Notre Dame, we talked about a lot last night after the playoff ranking. So these next few weeks |
| 2:10.3 | are critical for these teams knocking on the door to try and get in the college football |
| 2:13.9 | playoff and set themselves up in some of these conference championship games. |
| 2:16.9 | Yeah, and Blaine, I mean, even outside of the teams that are competing for championship still right now, there's a bunch of interesting storylines about teams that have already fired coaches that we're gonna get to see the interim guy and see if that interim bump can continue to happen. We've seen it as some other places. We saw it with UCLA. Saw it a little bit with Arkansas, even though they weren't able to win. They're able to fight and keep games close. But you look at LSU is playing Alabama. You look at Auburn. He's going on the road to play Vandy. It's going to be interesting to see which teams are able to get up and maybe even perform better, not having their head coached. A lot of questions, a lot of unknowns walking into this weekend. And to be honest, I like it. |
| 2:51.2 | I like it. I like it. What are we going to get out of LSU? I mean, do you really know? I mean, what are we going to get out of Auburn? Do you really know? I don't think so. It could be really good. It could be really bad. But can it last? So the one thing I'm kind of interested in, and not only is those sides with the new coaches, but the team's playing against them. If you're Kalynne DeBoer and you're Clark Lee, how do you handle this from a coaching standpoint where you're going against a team that their head coach is gone? And now there's basically... And they both have new play callers. New play callers, and it's a whole new identity. You can't watch tape from this year. Hell, you're going to have to go back to where that offensive coordinator coached before and watch that type of tape. So I'm always interested in what's going on behind the scenes from a coaching standpoint on how they're approaching scouting these guys coming into this Saturday. So let me ask you guys about this. This makes me think of this question. If I told you in advance that only one of either LSU with interim coaches or Auburn with interim coaches would score 35 points this weekend when, which team would you take? Well, consider one's playing Alabama and I got a ton of respect for Vandy, but still, I will take the team that's playing Vanderbilt and in Auburn. |
| 3:58.7 | That's what I would say. |
| 3:59.9 | I would, the other, are you talking about the team with the fire coach to score 35 points? Yes. I would take LSU. Why? Because of the talent that they have on the offensive side of the ball. But what about the offense of mine? There's no guy in the Auburn quarterback room that I can sit there and say, yeah, he can go get you 35 points. |
| 4:13.1 | Well, the essence of the question, I guess, is kind of like which play caller was the bigger problem. True, right? True. Yeah. But I do think, I mean, I do think LSU. And one of those playcullors was the head coach. Yeah, I just think LSU has more weapons when it comes to offense that they could go. You'll see more guys playing on Sunday on LSU's Alvarez. Well, at the quarterback position, I agree, but I think, you know, Auburn's got some pieces around him. |
