I'm Alex Kirshner, joined by Richard

Johnson and Roger Sherman. Roger, welcome. Thanks for having me. I mean, previewing 18 teams

with two guys would have been, that's too much. That's too many teams. Yeah. As someone who's done it

the last two to three years, it's too many teams, objectively. Yeah. You don't go into a job like this, an 18 team podcast preview with just two guys. You need someone to watch the door. You need someone to be by the getaway car. You need someone to watch for the things that you couldn't do with just two people. To watch Purdue. To watch Purdue. You need someone like. And Northwestern. You're going to be our Northwestern correspondent. Yeah, we tried to split up the gorier work in this conference, you know, not to have anyone. It's kind of like those Facebook moderators who see all those horrible things. It's like you don't want to have someone have to do like Maryland and Purdue and Northwestern. You know, you kind of divide the work.

You make sure that everyone only has to see so much that could be going to this year because it's

going to get rough at the bottom of this conference. But that's kind of how it's going to be when

you got 18 teams in a league. 18 teams in a league.

Why did we decide we were okay with this?

I don't know that anybody decided.

I think it was foisted upon us.

The big 10, I mean, like we've been doing Joe, the big 10, they have more than 10 teams.

But now they're starting to piss me off by asking for increasingly large playoff fields. Like, first, they proposed 16, and people are like, no, we, like, we don't want that. That's too many teams. You're just trying to put more big 10 teams. And then this past week, there was the rumor that they're going 24 or 28 the big 10 is trying to push for

that and I'm like well yeah we'll see that's big 10 we need a firmer grasp on on smaller numbers

we really do I'm excited anyway I love conference preview season it will roll on this week we're

going to have the SEC in a few days also stay tuned for the FCS upset draft and FCS season preview coming this week.

It's good to be back on the mics. We haven't all been on the mics together for a little while.

Richard in the last time, in the time since Richard and I have podcasted, Richard was appointed

honorary Jew by several of my aunts for his inspired work lifting chairs during the horror at my wedding. People said, is that guy one of us? Well, he is now.
