Spencer Hall, I consider you a person that I turn to in times of just extreme confusion

about college football. And also when I need something named and I want a name for this era

of the sport that you love because conference realignment it just feels a little insufficient

for what exactly we're watching right now. Yeah. I think Shuffle Paloza is the first

word that comes to mind. I think another one is the world's most deeply unsexy game of musical

chairs. The Reformation of 2022 if you want to get super historical about it. There's a very simple

motivation explaining what's happening in college football right now and then there is the reality

that just because things have always been one way in college football does not mean that they have

to remain that way. I think that the idea that this sport should be immune from flux or immune

from the outside world is absurd. This is the way things go for every sport changes the norm.

I'm not flustered about it. I'm not a traditionalist. I am going to laugh very hard watching USC

play in the snow somewhere in the big 10 in the next five years. And that that Pablo is one of the

things along with caffeine that keeps me alive. Life in the college football universe is in flux.

You may have noticed that by now. You may have noticed that entire schools entire conferences

entire rivalries, traditions. They've apparently entered their own transfer portal. Like what am I

supposed to do with the fact that USC and UCLA once the Marquis universities of the pack 12

are now the new faces of the culturally midwestern big 10 which hasn't had 10 members in years.

The allegedly southeastern conference meanwhile remains on a similar timeline to absorb Texas

and Oklahoma. And pretty much everybody else is straight up panicking, dying to figure out if they're

the next domino or about to be crushed by one. So today Spencer Hall gives us a tour of college

football's multiverse of madness and he shares his spiteful dream for what happens next.
