Hello, and welcome to episode 15 of the Collecting Addix podcast. There is still no new name,

however, JLR has announced it wants to kill the name Land Rover, which we all think is utter madness.

We'll discuss that after I've apologised in advance for the fact that we're recording this

on Zoom and it might be a bit what the text call glitchy. I don't know what that means,

but hopefully it allows us to cock out a bit and not get in trouble.

JLR is going to ditch Land Rover, although they posted a story the next day saying they weren't

going to ditch Land Rover. Chris Cooper, can you summarise the shambles for us?

So, I was trying hard to think about there are very few automotive brands

that have quite the longevity and the authenticity and the originality. I'm sure all of us,

and I'm sure most people listening will know the story about

two lovely chaps sketching out in the sand on a beach in Wales.

The classic shape of a series one defender and it's kind of it's a 9-11 shape.

It's a 9-11 shape for something which isn't a 9-11 in a way that even a goal doesn't really have.

So, the Land Rover brand is and you literally couldn't make it up. It's original, it's authentic,

and it gives credibility. I can see the problem they thought they were trying to solve.
