The next three cases you will hear about are all unsolved murders Oregon itself has a lower than average murder rate when compared to the rest of the United States,

but the Portland Police Bureau has well over 100 unsolved

experts don't know exactly why Oregon falls well below the national average but they do point to a variety of socioeconomic factors that could influence why Oregonians are less likely to be murdered.

According to Project Cold Cases analysis of the FBI's Uniform Crime Report between 1980 and 2008, Oregon saw 3,268 homicides and had a clearance

rate of 64 percent.

Of the homicides committed in this period, 1,189 homicides remain unsolved.
