Summary

It’s been another week full of twists and turns in the Alex Murdaugh story. With each new development in this case, we’re getting to see the inner workings of the justice system and how it just simply works better for certain people. The first plea deal has been struck in Alex Murdaugh’s web of crime and corruption. Former attorney Cory Fleming, who was Murdaugh’s best friend — and godfather to Buster Murdaugh — has agreed to cooperate with the federal government and provide information in exchange for leniency. Murdaugh Murders Podcast hosts Mandy Matney, Liz Farrell and everyone’s favorite attorney Eric Bland — discuss the latest in the Murdaugh Murders saga, as well as how clients can protect themselves from lawyers like Alex and Cory. We’re asking people — specifically those who have had cases with PMPED and other related law firms — to request copies of their files and to CHECK their disbursement sheets and expense sheets to see if there’s anything questionable on there. Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and at Luna Shark that’s what we’re all about. Let’s get into it! Meaning this looks like a good thing but it's not always clear who the real winner is here.

0:44.3

Is it justice or is this the good old boys?

0:47.8

Liz, Eric and I talk about former attorney Corey Fleming, ELEC's long time best friend,

0:54.5

and what the seemingly sweet deal that he is struck with the federal government actually

0:59.3

means.

1:00.4

We also talk about something incredibly important, a huge lesson that everyone can take from

1:05.9

all of these cases.

1:07.7

But also something we think is a major concern for former clients of PMPD in particular.

1:14.7

And it's how to know if you've been taken advantage of by your attorney.

1:19.3

We're asking people, specifically those who've had cases with PMPD and other related law

firms, to request copies of their files and to check their disbursement sheets and expense

sheets to see if there's anything questionable on there.

1:36.2

Why?

1:37.2

Because we don't know that we can trust ELEC Murdoch's former partners, the bar association or even

1:44.3

law enforcement to do it.
