Telegram says it's compliant with EU law after the arrest of its CEO and India's CBDC pilot sees millions of users.

Messaging app Telegram said that it fully complies with European Union law and its content moderation

practices are within industry norms. The statement comes after its CEO, Pavel Durov, was arrested

at a French airport by local authorities. A formal charge sheet has yet to be published by prosecutors,

but media reports indicate that prosecutors could assign culpability to the CEO

and Telegram for criminal acts that took place on the app. Telegram said in the statement that it is,

quote, absurd to claim that a platform or its owner are responsible for abuse of that platform,

end quote. India's retail CBDC pilot has over 5 million users with as many as 16 banks participating.

However, the governor of the nation's central bank hinted that they should not be in any rush

to roll out a system-wide CBDC.

Governor Shakta-Kanta Das spoke at a conference on the matter, saying that the actual
